(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) – The St. Joseph School District’s Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) program continues to help families as they work toward obtaining U.S. citizenship.
On September 14, 2018, an entire family celebrated during a citizenship ceremony at the Truman Library in Kansas City.
Mom and dad both studied in the AEL program at Webster Learning Center. Their son is a student in the district.
The ceremony was in honor of Constitution Day with reenactors on hand along with a choir and a reception.
Nancy Clisbee, a citizenship teacher with the AEL program at Webster, helped the family throughout the process. The program also has a number of volunteers who offer assistance.
