(August 6, 2019) Dozens of teachers stopped by to refill supplies for their classrooms as Crayons to Computers (C2C) reopened for the 2019-20 school year.
C2C carries a wide range of materials including basic supplies like pens and notebooks, recyclables such as cardboard tubes and empty two-liter bottles, and even hygiene products and seasonal decorative items.
Amy Mayes, a Special Education Math teacher at Truman Middle School, says she comes regularly to find materials for the projects she does with her students.
“I love coming here for the tape,” said Mayes. “We make kites out of tissue paper and tape and we fly them at the end of the year, every year.”
Supplies are donated by community members and local businesses and are free to St. Joseph School District employees.
C2C is a non-profit educational resource to benefit the students of today and tomorrow. The store is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. District employees must wear their I.D. badges to shop.
