State Honors SJSD Students with Seal of Biliteracy

(August 5, 2019) The St. Joseph School District is pleased to announce 20 graduates earned state recognition for their proficiency in two or more languages.

The Missouri Seal of Biliteracy is awarded to students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.

Students who met the criteria for 2019 earned recognition for their proficiency in French, Spanish and Latin. The group includes students from Central High School.

Due to the rigor of the requirements, some Missouri universities give up to 12 hours of college credit for students who meet the assessment and sociocultural requirements.

Those who earned the seal will be invited to be recognized by the SJSD Board of Education later this year.
