SJSD Students Return from National Competition with Top Awards

(July 3, 2019) -- Students and instructors from the St. Joseph School District returned from Washington, D.C. this week with some extra hardware and national recognition for their work.

Teams from Central, Lafayette, Benton, Bode and Truman competed in the 2019 National TSA (Technology Student Association) Conference at National Harbor. 

The results included multiple top 5 finishes for the district and a national championship:

Central
Computer Integrated Manufacturing – 1st place
System Control Technology – 5th place

Lafayette
Animatronics - 4th Place

Bode Middle School
Mass Production – 3rd Place

TSA is an organization for students interested in all aspects of science, technology, and engineering. Each year, students in middle school and high school compete in dozens of events at both state and national competitions. Events can range from animatronics to mass production to racing solar-powered cars. Students can compete individually or in groups.

The SJSD has teams at Bode, Spring Garden, Truman, Benton, Central and Lafayette.
