LHS Student Council Wins Gold Award

Lafayette High School’s Student Council has earned recognition on the state level.

The Honor Council Committee of Missouri Association of Student Councils recently awarded Lafayette with the Gold Award.

The award goes to a student council with a comprehensive program that promotes student activities and leadership. Lafayette submitted an application that outlines the the council's activities including school service, spirit, community service, student and teacher recognition and leadership training activities.

The committee also recognized Emily Sumner, Hilary Salanky and Dr. Tyran Sumy for supporting student leadership at their school.

The presentation was made during a convention in St. Louis.
