Timeline Set for Narrowing List of School Board Candidates

(March 14, 2017) The St. Joseph School District Board of Education has outlined the process for filling a vacancy on the board.

Board members announced the timeline during a special board meeting on Monday, March 13, 2017.

Board of Education Candidate Presentations

Monday, March 27, 2017

6:30 p.m.

Edison Elementary School Gym

515 N. 22nd Street

St. Joseph, MO 64501

Each candidate will make a three-minute presentation to the BOE and the public on reasons for applying for the vacant position, individual qualifications, and an explanation regarding why they are the best candidate. The order of the presentations will be made in the order (date and time) of the applications received:

The BOE will rank each candidate and select four finalists to interview during a public meeting:

9:00 a.m.

Board Conference Room, 3rd Floor

SJSD Downtown Offices

St. Joseph, MO 64501

The interview order will be in the order of the four finalists date and time of the applications being received. During the interview of a candidate, other candidates will be asked to wait in the office reception area. Once a candidate is interviewed, the candidate may remain in the audience. The BOE will vote in public and announce its board member replacement.

The board member replacement will be sworn in to fill the vacancy until April of 2018 during a special meeting and work session:
