
At its regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 28, 2022, the St. Joseph Board of Education approved the appointments of six administrators for the 2022-23 school year. Five of the six appointments are promotions for individuals currently serving the district. One of the appointees will join the district from out-of-state.
Bart Hardy, Assistant Principal at Lafayette has been appointed principal of LHS. Hardy received a bachelor’s in Secondary Education/Mathematics and a master’s in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University. He will replace Dr. Ashly McGinnis who was selected as Assistant Superintendent of Academics.
Heather Renk, principal in the Lawrence Public School District, will join the SJSD family as Central High School principal. Renk has bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Secondary Education from Wichita State University and Kansas State University, a master’s in School Counseling from Kansas State University and a master’s in School Leadership and Administration from Emporia State University. She is a doctoral candidate in School Leadership at Baker University. Renk will replace Dr. Terri Godfrey who is retiring.
Amanda Ueligger, currently a SJSD curriculum advisor, will serve as assistant principal at Lindbergh Elementary. Ueligger has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University and a master’s in Educational Leadership from Park University. She replaces Eric White who will serve as Lindbergh principal. Dr. John Davison, current Lindbergh principal, has been appointed superintendent of the Stanberry R-2 School District.
Dlo DuVall, assistant director of Special Programs will assume the role of director of Special Services. Duvall received her specialist degree in Administration from William Woods University, a master’s degree in Teaching: Instructional Technology from Northwest Missouri State University, and a bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Missouri Western State University. Duvall replaces Dr. Michele Thomason, who has accepted a position with the Maysville R-1 School District.
Stacia Studer, currently serves as a curriculum advisor, and will take on a new position, director of Curriculum. Studer has a bachelor’s in Middle School Education from Missouri Western State University, a master’s in Elementary Education, a specialist in Principalship, Elementary and Middle School Administration from Arkansas State University, and is a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership at William Woods University.
Tamara Smith-Hinchey, Carden Park Elementary school nurse, will serve as coordinator of Nursing/Health Services. Smith-Hinchey has an associate of arts in Nursing from Park University and a bachelor’s in Nursing from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Ms. Smith-Hinchey replaces Maria Burnham, who is retiring.
All appointees will assume their positions July 1, 2022.
