
The St. Joseph Board of Education recently approved the promotions of three current SJSD educators. This announcement is part of the annual process due to retirements and promotions in the district.
Jeff Sullivan, currently the assistant principal at Truman Middle School, will be the new assistant principal at Central High School. Sullivan received his bachelor’s in science education: K-12 physical education at Missouri State and his master’s in educational leadership: secondary level from Northwest Missouri State University. Sullivan is replacing Kris Larson who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Christine Prussman currently serves as an English teacher and department chair at Lafayette High School and has been appointed as the new assistant principal at LHS. Prussman has a specialist’s degree in Administration from Northwest Missouri State University, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction (with an emphasis in TESOL) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Communications from Graceland University, and a secondary teaching certificate from Missouri Western State University. Prussman will replace Bart Hardy who has been appointed principal at LHS.
Dr. Kara Anderson has been named assistant director of Special Programs. Anderson currently serves as principal at Bessie Ellison Elementary. Anderson earned a Doctorate in Education and her Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from William Woods University. She received her master’s in Special Education and her bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Special Education from Northwest Missouri State University. Anderson is replacing Dlo Duvall who was recently appointed to director of Special Programs.
All appointees will assume their positions July 1, 2022.
