During the statewide conference DECA members were evaluated by more than 100 business and industry professionals who served as competitive event judges. Students who participated in the competition solved realistic workplace problems.DECA Marketing students from Central and Lafayette virtually joined more than 1,000 high school marketing students for the 73rd annual Missouri DECA State Career Development Conference, March 8-19, 2021. The conference was sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. 

Students participated in individual or team events, business operations research projects, and entrepreneurship projects. Event criteria were aligned with national curriculum standards. 

Central High School results are as follows: 

2nd Place: Career Development Project – Shelby Marquardt & Ashlin McCamy 

3rd Place: Accounting Applications - Kayla Zook 

4th Place: Hospitality & Tourism Professional Selling – Elizabeth Brunner 

5th Place: Professional Selling – Brenden Daughery 

5th Place: Financial Consulting –Clayton Mikesch 

Finalists: Community Giving Project - Emma Millis & Marley VanderMolen 

Finalist: Entrepreneurship Series – Tristan Pritchet  

 

Lafayette High School results are as follows: 

Finalists: Start-up Business Plan – Bre Huff & Cassidy Payne 

Finalist: Retail Merchandising Series – Sydney Flowers
