    Dr. Lara Gilpin

    Dr. Gilpin has been in education for 26 years. Her career with the St. Joseph School District began in 1993 as a P.E./health teacher at Spring Garden Middle School. Dr. Gilpin coached basketball and track at SGMS as well as varsity basketball and volleyball at Benton High School. In 1999 she became assistant principal at Robidoux Middle School and moved to assistant principal at Truman Middle School in 2001. The following year, Dr. Gilpin became principal of Spring Garden Middle School, where she remains. She has received a Bachelor's, Master's, and Specialist Degree from Northwest Missouri State University and received her doctorate from Baker University.

    Assistant Principal

    Ms. Megan Lowe is in her eighth year as an educator. She began her career in the St. Joseph School District in 2013. She taught business and marketing at Lafayette High School and kindergarten and fifth grade at Coleman and Oak Grove Elementary prior to becoming assistant principal at Spring Garden. Mrs. Lowe taught physical education at Saint Patrick’s Parochial School before joining our district. Ms. Lowe has received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Missouri Western State University. She received her NCATE Certification and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership K-12 from Northwest Missouri State University.
