The St. Joseph School District is making the registration process easier for new families to the district by opening an Enrollment Center in January 2023. This one-stop service is designed for new families to the district with Pre-Kindergarten through high school aged children. Parents of children who have never attended school in the SJSD are encouraged to visit the center prior to the beginning of 2023-24 school year.
The Enrollment Center will be housed at the district Administration Building, 1415 N. 26th Street. Families should park in the parking lot and enter door #5. The center will be open from 8:30 am – 4pm Monday thru Friday.
Please be sure to bring the following documents that are needed for residency/guardianship verification and school-based documentation:
- Previous school information – Names, addresses and contact information (including phone number and fax number) for the last pervious school outside of the St. Joseph School District your child has attended, if any.
- Updated medical information – including names and contact information of medical providers with last exam dates, Medicaid information and any chronic illness information that will help in the care of your student.
- Updated contact information – including the names, addresses and contact numbers of people you want the district to have as contacts for your student.
- Proof of residency is required for new students or current students who have a change of address.
- Proof of residency (lease agreement or utility bill showing the student lives in the school’s attendance area)
- Current Immunization record
- Birth certificate
- Photo ID
Parents will have the option to upload an electronic copy of the documents during the online registration process. However, parents/guardians may still be asked to provide a hard copy of some of the documents for review. District employees, including interpreters will assist parents with the registration process.
Families whose children currently attend the district and plan to return for the 2023-24 school year will continue to register using the online enrollment system with access 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The district will announce at a later date the timeframe for returning students to register for next school year.
