School districts are in the business of teaching and learning. Are students meeting academic goals, how does attendance affect learning, how has the pandemic impacted student learning and achievement? These are among the topics being discussed by school district officials and parents across the nation; including the Vision Forward Community Engagement Team.
Community participants will hear presentations on Improving Student Performance (Pre-K through Grade 5) at the March session and Improving Student Performance (Grades 6-12) in April.
The March 29 session will be held at Word of Life Church from 6-8 pm and the April 26 session will be at Lafayette High School, 412 E. Highland Avenue from 6-8 pm.
Participants will hear a presentation about curriculum, programs and services offered to students from Pre-K through 12th grade and then have time to discuss the information presented in small groups through a work activity. The work from the group session will be used to create a long-range Action Plan to enhance the quality of education for children who attend the St. Joseph School District.
The community can make their voices heard by attending either in-person or virtual sessions on the same evening. Individuals must pre-register in order to participate in the virtual sessions. The virtual session registration deadline is March 28 at 5 p.m. To make a reservation,
