Vision Forward Session to Focus on Attracting and Retaining Staff
Posted on 02/16/2022
Vision Forward LogoIt is no secret there is a teaching shortage in the United States, including right here in St. Joseph – especially in critical areas like math, science, languages, and special education.

Many college students are not choosing to pursue a career in education, and many veteran and experienced educators are retiring or making a choice to leave the profession.

The topic for the next St. Joseph School District’s Vision Forward community engagement session is “What Matters Most – High Quality Staff in Every Classroom.”

The second in a series of community workshops this spring will focus on how the St. Joseph School District can attract and retain quality staff.

Community members are invited to participate and have their voices heard on Tuesday, February 22 at Word of Life Church, 3902 NE Riverside Road from 6-8 pm. The goal of the engagement sessions is to improve the St. Joseph School District and our community. The work from the group sessions will be used to create a long-range Action Plan to enhance the quality of education for children who attend the St. Joseph School District.

The community engagement sessions are in-person with masks strongly encouraged and mask-only tables provided, or a virtual session that requires individuals to register prior to Feb. 22.

To make a reservation for the online session, go to www.visionforwardsjsd.com.  A link will be sent only to those participants who RSVP.

The St. Joseph School District welcomes your ideas and suggestions as we work together for all of St. Joseph. If you have questions, or desire more information, go to www.visionfowardsjsd.com or email [email protected]
