$107,000,000 - 29.24 CENT TAX INCREASE
Proposition C.A.R.E.


Shall the Board of Education of the School District of St. Joseph, Missouri borrow money in the amount of One Hundred Seven Million Dollars ($107,000,000) for the purpose of providing funds for the acquisition, construction, equipping, and furnishing of a new high school; to renovate, upgrade, and install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the Central, Lafayette, and Benton buildings; to upgrade athletic facilities; to the extent funds are available, install HVAC systems throughout as many other buildings as possible within the District, upgrade the Hillyard Technical Center, and complete other repairs and improvements to the existing facilities of the District; and issue general obligation bonds for the payment thereof resulting in an estimated increase to the debt service property tax levy of $0.2924 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation?

If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to increase by $0.2924 from $0.5076, currently, to $0.8000 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.
