Graduation Ceremonies Update

Please join us in celebrating the St. Joseph School District's Class of 2020 in a unique fashion this year. There are numerous opportunities to view the virtual graduation ceremonies on Sunday, May 17. We hope one of the options provided below fits your family's schedule. If not, the ceremonies will remain on our district channels for viewing at any time.

The video presentations from Benton, Central & Lafayette will be shared on Sunday, May 17 on the SJSD's YouTube channel, Facebook page and website following the original graduation time frames posted below:

  • Central- Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 1:00 pm
  • Benton - Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 4:00 pm
  • Lafayette -Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 7:00 pm

Local media outlets KQ2 and News-Press Now have also agreed to broadcast the ceremonies on Sunday, May 17. Due to network programming schedules, KQ2 and Fox (KNPN) will begin airing the ceremonies at 10:00 a.m. The ceremonies will run back to back with the approximate time frame as follows:

  • Central- Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 10:00 am
  • Benton - Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 11:00 am
  • Lafayette -Sunday, May 17, 2020 at 11:30 am

KQ2 will broadcast the ceremonies again starting at approximately noon. News-Press Now (ONPN) will share an encore presentation of the ceremonies starting at 5pm. Both media outlets will share the video presentations on their websites as well.

Although we would prefer in-person ceremonies on Sunday, we want to thank KQ2 and News-Press Now for providing an additional platform to celebrate the Class of 2020. We also want to thank Niles Media Group, the district's Sports Marketing Partner, for producing the virtual graduation ceremonies for each high school.

We understand that a virtual ceremony does not replace traditional ceremonies. The St. Joseph School District has set two dates for potential in-person graduation ceremonies at each high school. The first date is June 27, 2020. The back-up date is July 25, 2020. Details for the ceremonies are not finalized yet, but we will share updates as the situation evolves. While district leaders can't predict what the future holds, but we understand that providing hope for our students and their families is important during these unprecedented times.
