The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is an independent, not-for-profit organization founded in 1975 that administers examinations and awards the following credentials:
ARDMS is the globally recognized standard of excellence in sonography and has certified more than 65,000 individuals.

- RDCS®– Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer®
- RVT®– Registered Vascular Technologist®
- RPVI®– Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation®
AIUM Mission Statement:The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to advancing the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine through professional and public education, research, development of guidelines, and accreditation.
The Greater Kansas City Society of Ultrasonographers (GKCSU) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ultrasound education. GKCSU strives to provide support, encouragement, and a superior academic environment for ultrasonographers in Kansas City and surrounding areas.
