What is
EdWeek SJSD? Take a look at a
this post I wrote last summer after completion of our first-ever EdWeek SJSD. You can also read a
post our colleague,
Sean Nash, wrote almost a year ago introducing the concept of
EdWeek SJSD. Needless to say, it was popular enough we had to bring it back this summer, and let me tell you, we have some FANTASTIC educators coming to this district in June 2012. You need to get your calendar out right now and start making plans to be with us.
We took a careful look at the calendar and the feedback we received last year regarding the week that we picked and have chosen a week a bit later in June. We have managed to avoid Summer School, ACT Academy, and Curriculum Writing Camps in picking June 18-22, 2012. Who do we have coming, you might ask? Well, let me give you a sneak peek:
If you click on each of the names above, you will be directed to their page on our
EdWeek SJSD wiki page where you can read more about each of these educators. Silvia and Dean were here for sessions last year and if you haven't heard about the activities that were accomplished during their time here, you should ask someone who was there. On the flip side, even if you were at one or both of their sessions last year, I can assure you you will not get any repetition if you sign up again. (For example, if you visit,
SIlvia's blog you will see several posts regarding the use if iPads in the elementary classroom. She looks to bring some timely insight to us on her visit.)
Space is limited, just like last year, and sign-ups are limited to the first 70 registrants. We will have a waiting list, so even if an event fills it is important to put your name on the wait list in case someone cancels their spot. The best part...there is no cost for SJSD staff!
Registration opens at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22. Links to register are on our
EdWeek SJSD wiki. Clear your calendars and get ready for some great learning, SJSD!
