The School Violence Hotline is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program provides an ANONYMOUS means to report school violence. Information is gathered from reporters and then entered into a centralized database. The information is immediately relayed by phone and the report is faxed or e-mailed to the appropriate law enforcement agency and school. The School Violence Hotline is a centralized reporting and referral service that promotes the timely sharing of critical information between youth, families, school personnel, and law enforcement to improve outcomes for youth and promote a safe school environment.
We help families and individuals navigate emotional, physical and social difficulties by offering services in the areas of crisis intervention, child and adult mental health, family planning, chemical dependency and more.
We are a comprehensive behavioral health non-profit organization established in 1979 providing substance abuse treatment/prevention and mental health services throughout Missouri. ![]()

Our Mission:
Engaging community partners to improve the lives of children and families.
Our Vision:
The lives of children and families are improved.
Our Values:
Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) is for men and women over the age of 16 who are not presently enrolled in any school, and who need to improve their basic reading, writing and math skills. Each year more than 10,000 Missouri residents earn their GED.
No matter what reason you may have for enrolling in an AEL course, it can provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to achieve your goals.
AEL courses are not like a regular school. AEL is planned just for adults to meet the needs and schedules of men and women who work and have families.
The AEL program offers the "Learning Center" approach. As a student, you go to one of the AEL sites located throughout St. Joseph and the surrounding area any time during the year. Day and evening classes are available and you can set up your own schedule.
In AEL, you may work at your own pace or you may work with a teacher.
It is free! There is no cost to students enrolled in AEL courses. AEL programs are supported with Federal funds under the Adult Basic Education Act of 1966, by State funds, approved by the Missouri Legislature and from contributions.
It is convenient! AEL courses are offered at seven St. Joseph locations, and at three sites outside the city.
It is personalized! AEL courses concentrate on what you need to learn. When you begin an AEL course, teachers work closely with you to determine what reading, writing and math skills you already have. Instruction is geared to what you need and want to achieve your goals.
