Project Connect: Advance Learning Through Technology is the St. Joseph School District's 1:1 initiative. This pilot program began in January, 2012 with two secondary schools--Benton High School and Bode Middle School--and two elementary schools--Edison Elementary and Lindbergh Elementary. Students at Benton and Bode received a MacBook, power cube, and laptop case. Students in grades 4-6 at Lindbergh and Edison received an iPad, iPad case, and iPad bag. In spring, 2012, the Board of Education voted to expand Project Connect to more SJSD schools. Beginning in the fall semester of 2012, the ninth grade classes at Lafayette and Central High Schools received an iPad and an iPad case as well as all students at Robidoux, Spring Garden, and Truman Middle Schools. In January and February, 2013, students in grades 4-6 at Noyes, Humboldt, Hosea, Hall, Mark Twain, and Lake Elementary Schools will receive an iPad and iPad case. This portal will serve as an information center for frequently asked questions, policies, paperwork, news, and more.
