Safety patrols is a very special group made of some of the best 5th and 6th graders at Hyde. To be a patrol you must have a C or above average, teacher recommendations, and you have to write a letter about why you would be a good patrol.
On a daily routine you should be at school in the morning at 8:25 and on post by 8:30. Then after a day of learning you come to the patrol room at 3:25. Then you have to be on post at 3:30.
Since the patrols are out in the cold, rain, snow, and heat we get monthly parties. Then at the end of the year we go on a field trip to a Royal's game.
So the next time you see someone in a neon-green belt know they are keeping the kids at Hyde safe!
