Congratulations to the 2010 Snowfrost Homecoming Court.

Central is now offering a new club called Students Offering Support — otherwise known as S.O.S. — that is here to help students with depression and other mental illness. This group offers support for anyone willing to come and share their story, or just listen to others' stories. S.O.S. strives to relate to teen struggles, so don't be afraid to come and seek help. The first meeting will be held Thursday, February 18, in room 22 at 3:00 PM. If interested please contact the Guidance Center, Colby Harvey, or Ellie Holcomb.

PTSA will be selling "spirit strips" during all lunch periods on Monday, February 8, through Thursday, February 11.

The Health Express will hold sports physicals on Wednesday, February 10, and Thursday, February 25, at Central. The fee will be $15.00 (due that day). To make an appointment or for more information, please contact the nurse's clinic. (Sign up now for a physical for the 2010/2011 school year. At this time the February dates are the only dates scheduled for the Health Express van to visit Central this spring.)

The Central PTSA is selling vinyl clings as a fundraiser for senior scholarships. They are $10.00 each and can be personalized with "Central Indians" and a student's name (and number, where applicable) for the following sports and activities: boys basketball, girls basketball, wrestling, swimming, choir, cheerleading, and drama. Please contact Vickie Point at 816/364-1339 to obtain an order form (the athletic coaches and choir classes have also been given forms). Payment is due when the order is placed; please make checks payable to CENTRAL PTSA.

The CHS DECA Club is now selling extra copies of "Get Cooking with Central" — a Central created cookbook chock full of over 200 pages of recipes ranging from appetizers, side dishes, entrees, and desserts. The book is fully indexed and gives credit to each recipe's donor. Copies are $10.00 each. See Mr. Jordan or Mrs. Beavers in room 112 to inquire about purchasing one of the books — with proceeds going to benefit the CHS DECA Club.
