The Saint Joseph School District trains and recruits highly qualified staff to participate in content area curriculum writing.  The curriculum must meet the needs and current demands of the culture, the community, and the expectations of the Common Core State Standards Initiative.  To this end, the educational reform process is always undergoing review, revision, and constant change.
 
The core subject areas of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies begin a revision writing process every seven years.  At the time of revision, a team is selected and trained in the area of focus.  The team spends an entire year researching new and innovative best practices while determining which parts of the curriculum are working and which parts will need to undergo revision in order to remain relevant to our current learners. During the second year, the team writes the curriculum and chooses the resources that best aligns to our curriculum and meets the needs of our students.
