SJSD character education program focuses on a different character word each month. Pershing encourages this appropriate behavior by honoring kids that display actions that relate to these traits. The teachers are watching and monitoring students. At the end of the month a student is selected by the teacher to represent that particular trait. The students chosen will receive a medal and have their picture displayed on a bulletin board. The Art, Music and PE teachers will be selecting a class that demonstrates the character trait. This class will receive a rotating trophy full of treats and their picture will be put on display.

 

Monthly traits are as follows:

September: Respect

October: Self-control

November: Citizenship

December:  Compassion

January: Tolerance

February: Honesty

March: Cooperation

April:  Perserverance

May: Patience
