Kyla Ward

      I became an educator because I truly believe that every student has the potential to be a great learner. It takes true understanding, trust, and patience to awaken that potential, to help guide a student on his or her journey to becoming the best person he or she can be. Through a close examination of what lessons can be learned from the study of all forms of literacy--both fiction and non-fiction, print and non-print, reading and writing--my students will become deep thinkers, prone to inquiry and critical thought. There is a power inherent in words that we all feel, but few of us have been taught to control. I teach so that students can unlock their own potential through the study of the written word. We all have something to say; I will help them say it so that it can be heard.
